Florence attractions: riding of the Three Wise Men

From 1997, the year of the VII° hundredth anniversary of Cathedral’s foundation, Florence commemorates a unique and characteristic tradition, Three Kings day.
Christian calendar consecrate January 6th – twelfth day after Christmas – to adoration of the Magi; tradition tells that the Three Wise Men came to pay tribute to Jesus, Messiah and son of God, on this day.
This year the same extraordinary event will take place again: Magi will head the cortège, followed by 700 walkers-on, will leave from Pitti square at 2 PM, recalling le famous riding of the Three Wise Men. Moreover, many delegates of some ethnic communities will take part to the show, wearing their traditional outfits.
