International Ceramics Fair in Florence
In October 2011, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd, at Piazza SS. Annunziata in Florence will hold a new edition of the International Fair of Ceramics, an exhibition of contemporary ceramics.
The Ceramics Fair makes its first appearance in Piazza SS. Annunziata in October 2000. Since then, working in close collaboration with the Association of Ceramic Art, the exhibition has become a popular meeting point between the master potters of great prestige and role model for other events in Italy.
In the two days of the Fair – from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m. – will be exhibited the works of 60 Italian and European potters who offer a meaningful picture of creating contemporary ceramics.
You can find used items on display decorations, ceramic sculptures and jewelry made with different techniques: the immediacy of raku, an ancient Japanese technique used for the tea ceremony, the reassuring solidity of the sandstone, typical of northern European regions, the liveliness and docility of the pottery, characteristic of the Mediterranean region, the refined qualities of luster, to fine china.
The International Ceramics Fair in Florence has free entry. If you are particularly fond of ceramic creations you can not miss this event: book now your room at one of the Ars Hotels Florence, located in the historic center of Florence.
