Shall we dance the Tango?
Also this year from 25th to 28th April the Tango Festival is coming back to Florence with five unmissable days.
On the occasion of the 17th edition the Festival takes place in unique location, the Affratellamento Theatre, a very cozy atmosphere where you can dance the latin rhythms of Argentina and Uruguay.
The program divides each single day in two different parts: from 01:15 pm. to 04.30 pm. there are workshops with professional dancers, while the evening until late night is dedicated to Milonga with some shows of dancers! Moreover the participants can assist to private lessons by very famous latin dancers as Gioia Abballe & Simone Facchini and young popular dancers as Lorena Tarantino & Gianpiero Galdi.
But wait, what is a Milonga? In reality the word means confusion, quarrel but in reality indicates a musical genre, a popular dance and even a ballroom!
As musical genre, Milonga is similar to the Tango but it has a more marked rhythm and it is linear like the African music. In Argentina it is a popular dance, which is usually confused with the Tango, but it can be used to indicate a large ballroom where the Milonga is practiced.
The purpose of this kind of festival is to involve not only the dance lovers, but also people who want to live an unique and unrepeatable experience!
If you participate at Tango Festival and you would like to stay just a few steps away from the historical center, we suggest you the Rivoli Boutique Hotel and the Grand Hotel Adriatico, two excellent 4* hotels, perfect for your rest after a long day of dancing.
