Restaurants in Florence and the 2012 Edition of Artusi Pellegrino Recipes
Tuscany is well-known for its tasty and healthy food. From 3 to 11 December Florence will dedicate an entire week to the art of good eating revisiting the recipes of the great Pellegrino Artusi, Italian writer and gourmet of the nineteenth century.
Many Florentine restaurants will join the initiative proposing the recipes of the famous Emilian described in his most famous work “La scienza in cucina e l’arte di mangiar bene” (Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Good Eating), a publication that came to the fourteenth edition in 1910 when Artusi was still alive. Today his work counts 111 editions and more than one million copies sold. The list of participating restaurants is available on the website vetrina-toscana.it. Among the scheduled events we recommend the tasting of Sangiovese on December 6 at the San Carlo dai Barnabiti Church, the wild game dinner at Trattoria da Burde on December 7 and the free play at Ex Leopoldine directed by Leonardo Romanelli and entitled “Pellegrino d’Italia”.
An appointment with tradition to dine in the city of the Renaissance in a marriage of art and traditional dishes, staying in one of the Ars Hotels.
