Weekend in Tuscany: Lucca Comics and Games 2012
Lucca Comics and Games, the greatest Italian festival about comics, games, animation and fantasy, will take place from 1st November 2012 to 4th November 2012 with its amazing and suggestive atmospheres. This event appeals enthusiasts from all over Italy and the world, and enlivens one of the most beautiful medieval cities with exhibition, cosplay, concerts, contests and stands… an appointment you should not miss!
Lucca Comics 2012 will be divided in 6 sections:
Comics. Area dedicated to comics and manga with great guest artists: Sara Pinchelli, illustrator of Ultimate Spider Man, Enrique Breccia, famous Argentinean drawer, Takeshi Obata, creator of Death Note and Hiraku no go and the Justice League’s fathers, Jim Lee and Geoff Johns.
Games. Meetings with authors, game sessions, exhibitions, contests and readings. There’ll be a lot of authors: Jason Bulmahn (Pathfinder), Christopher Paolini (Inheritance Cycle), Chris Ayers (Men in Black, Alien vs. Predator), Raphael Lacoste (Assassin’s Creed), Licia Troisi, and the Italian dubbers of Game of Thrones.
Music & Cosplay. Cosplay is the main characteristic of Lucca Comics: you could be your favourite superhero or walk through Lucca surrounded by characters of manga and videogames accompanied by J-pop music and cartoon theme songs.
Japan Palace. Japanese art and culture in Tuscany. Handcraft, tea ceremony, kimono girls, writing lessons… you’ll taste specialities from the Land of Rising Sun, watch ninja and dancers’ performances and much more.
Movie. Screenings and previews al Lucca Comics 2012: Red Lights by Rodrigo Cortés and Frankenweenie by Tim Burton will be screen on 1st November 2012.
Junior. Entertainment for kids at the junior area; games, readings, and discussion to project children in a better future. There will be also guests, workshops and meetings.
