“Amico museo” and florentine museums by night
From May 14th to June 5th 2016 returns the event promoted and coordinated by the Tuscany Region aimed at the discovery by adult and children of Tuscan museums. “Amico museo” proposes guided tours, presentations, workshops and exhibitions because the museum is a friend who never betrays in order to guarantee, each time, an emotion. The theme chosen for the 2016 edition of this event is “Museums and cultural landscapes” which refers to the proposal of the International Day of Museums ICOM. This year’s topic is also linked to the 50th anniversary of the flood that Florence sadly celebrated. The conditioning of the landscape by the humans, then, and not only…special sections that will be covered in this initiative will touch also different activities for the disabled and a focus on the Via Francigena, be in charge of all the museums that the path presents but also the circuit Case della memoria (houses of memory).
Within this kermesse, it has great importance the European Night of Museums scheduled for Saturday, May 21st 2016. A day, or rather an evening, where simultaneously 30 European countries open 3,000 museums free of charge from 9 pm to 11 pm.
