#DomenicalMuseo kids-oriented June 7
The #DomenicalMuseo of June presents, thanks to the support of Giotto-FILA, a special program dedicated to families. Beyond the usual free visits to museums of adults, on the schedule there are many initiatives dedicated to kids and their parents.
Let’s see these events on the first Sunday of June:
The place I’d like to live
In the Murate complex it will be organized an artistic atelier where kids can imagine their dream place, creating it with colors and pencils.
Hours: 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.
ITINERARIES IN THE CITY: (POINT OF DEPARTURE FROM PALAZZO VECCHIO FOR ALL TOURS)
Kit Firenze Family tour
Families with kids aged from 6 to 13 years can participate to a visit of the city, for which they could book a kit, in which there is also a map, that can be taken at the info point in Palazzo Vecchio. The visit lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.
hours: 9.30 am – 11 am – 12.30 am – 2 pm – 3.30 pm – 5 pm
Discovering Roman Florence
For families with children of 8 to 12 years old, at 10.30 am, there will be a visit of the ancient Florentia, at the time of the Romans, in 59 b.c. The itinerary will show the old tracks of that time in the actual city: houses, theaters, baths…and much more.
Discovering Medieval Florence
If your family is interested in Medio eve you cannot miss the visit in the city that shows you the buildings built in this period.
Hours: 12 am
Discovering Firenze capital
This is a visit that follows the history of Florence, when it was the capital city of the Italian Reign in 1865. In this period, the city went through many changes to adapt to its role.
Hours: 4.30 pm
Florence in celebration
The itinerary retrace the most important places of the Florentine celebrations such as Fiorita, San Giovanni, Rificolona or the ancient Festa de’Magi, which was already celebrated in the XIV century and became one of the main event of the city thanks to the Medici family.
Hours: 3.30 and 5 pm
The body like a statue
This event takes inspiration from the exhibition Human, by Antony Gormley, which takes place at Forte Belvedere. The childrens’ bodies will become for the occasion realwork tools in order to activate a reflection about the relationship between body, time and space.
Hours: 3 and 4.30 pm
Do good with Secret Garden
Still for families with kids, but not only, it is an charity event in favour of Noi per Voi Onlus, an association which supports the pediatric hospital Meyer of Florence. This year it takes place at Villa Bardini on the 5th, 6th and 7th of June. The funds will be giveng to finance two projects: the project Homing, to support families with children who have cancer and the buy Brainlab, a portable surgical station to cure bone cancer.
The Secret Garden will open Friday June 5 at 5 pm with the Secret Market, a market of food, handicrafts, biological items and accessories. During the 3 days of the event, various activities will be organized both for kids and adults: tour of the garden, yoga lessons for adults for examples; fashion laboratories, French and cooking lessons for kids. In the evening, there will be a happy hour with a dj set.
The admission to the Secret Garden requires a minimum donation of 5 € for the adults, while for the kids under 12 it is free. The activities need to be booked and have a cost of 5 € for the adults, and 3 € for the kids. During the days of the event, it will be also possible to visit Villa Bardini and its beautiful garden at only 4 €.
