Let’s discover Florence through Craftmanship
May, with its explosion of colours and perfumes, is a month full of satisfaction for artisans around the world, because finally, they can pay tribute to the quality and majesty of their masterpieces.
The 25th edition of the Artigianato e Palazzo exhibition, which will take place at the Corsini Garden in Florence, from 16 to 19 May 2019, is coming.
Created by Neri Torrigiani in 1995 and promoted by Princess Giorgiana Corsini, the Artigianato e Palazzo exhibition, joins together, the craftsman figure and its work, in “moderns” terms, maintaining tight some of the most traditional aspects.
Along the paths of the sixteeth – century Corsini Garden, build by Gherardo Silvani, all visitors that participate to the exhibition will have the opportunity to see the creations of hundreds of artisans and the way they work and create.
A beautiful walk along the roots of the tradition that says, meet, enjoy and teach us.
The millestone of 25 years from the birth of “Giardino e Palazzo” will make main protagonist, during this four days, the Gold and as the Mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella says, this year, the winner will be rewarded with the Fiorino d’Oro:
“This is a message of a city that is experiencing a new Renaissance of Craft. I’m so glad that Florence dedicate a mounth to the craftsmanship – said the Mayor – we can build on craft what Milan create on design.”
One of the most important exhibition entitled “Mostra Principe “Leonardo e il Battiloro”, will honor the ancient and historic company of Giusto Manetti Battiloro, born in Florence in 1820. From the past 15 generations they produce real gold and silver through processes of high technology and traditional methods of craftsmanship.
And this is only the beginning…
This year, 10 under 35 winners of the Blog&Crafts competition, will also take part to the exhibition, challenging their creativity.
“Memorie di Russia”, another relevant exposition, is a fundraiser for the recovery and conservation of works of art, releted to the Russian community, which over the course of ‘800 have decorated Florence with churches, mansions and art collections.
