Place to visit in Tuscany: Moebius’ exhibition in Poggibonsi
Fenice Nine Arts International Festival of Poggibonsi, festival dedicated to theme of transformation in art, celebrates, until 4th November 2012, Jean Giraud (known also as Moebius) one of the most famous comic strip artists of twentieth century, with an exclusive exhibition of his last work, composed by 50 illustrated pages.
Inside Moebius it’s a groundbreaking and personal work, which explores the inner world of the artist. This comic is a trip through all the alter egos of Giraud, while they’re searching its author.
Jean Giraud’s works can be divided in two categories, one dedicated to western (with the well-known Burberry’s series) and one dedicated to fantasy and science fiction. Everyone knows his view of space-age cities, chaotic metropolis with flying cars. He also cooperated on the creation of several movies: “The Fifth Element”, “Tron”, “Dune” and “Blade Runner” inspired to Giraud’s works.
The exhibition will take place at Politeama Theater and it will be free. Besides the book there’ll be unpublished photos and videos of his last participation at Fenice Festival in 2008. Don’t miss this chance: discover the metaphysics world of Moebius, book a room at Hotel Sovestro in San Gimignano, ancient medieval village lost in the nature near Poggibonsi.
