Ennio Morricone in concert at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence
On Saturday, November 3 the magnificent Ennio Morricone will perform with his orchestra at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence. Ten years have passed since the first triumphant performance at the Arena di Verona and after more than 200 concerts all over the world.
He performed at the General Assembly of UN in New York, in the Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, at La Scala Theatre in Milan and brought his poems in Mexico, Chile, Australia, South Korea, Kiev, China and in many other countries. The list of his Career Awards is endless: he won five Nastri d’Argento (an award assigned each year by the association of Italian films critics), five David di Donatello Awards, two Golden Globe, two Grammy Awards and five BAFTA awards (British Academy of Film and Television Art). In 2007, the actor and director Clint Eastwood gave him the Oscar Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2010 he has been the first Italian to receive the Polar Music Prize from the Royal Swedish Music “for building up a brand new kind of music that set the tone for half a century of film music, but also influenced and inspired a number of musicians in the spheres of pop, rock and classical music”. In his concert there will be two orchestras, the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra and the RAI Sinfonica Orchestra and three choirs.
