The tastiest event of the season is coming to town!
From Saturday 9 to Monday 11 March, at the Stazione Leopolda, will be held the highly anticipated XIV edition of Pitti Taste.
An extraordinary journey that crosses the food excellences of the peninsula and the diversity of food culture, weaved together with elements of design and lifestyle characterizing, more than ever, today’s food culture and distinguishing all the events signed by Pitti.
Taste is in fact the food and wine event that is both a business platform and a container of trends and ideas for everything that is on in the culinary culture.
The image chosen for the event really wants to be an evocative invitation to cross the known borders, following the impulse to explore the new dimensions of taste offered, from the producers, to show’s guests.
Almost 400 companies, among the most qualified in Italy, will present their culinary novelties, flanked by the most modern objects of food & kitchen design, clothing and technical equipment of the sector. Alessandro Moradei, architect and fairs designer, has created an engaging and just great setting thanks to a big calendar of presentations, events and talks that focus of the most up-to-date table and taste trends.
Planet Bread. Here is revealed the first course of the Taste menu. Simple and never banal, an ancient and ever new food, that with its social value, of sharing and aggregation, unites together regional specificities and family traditions, not forgetting important rediscoveries and new influences. For the duration of the event there will be bakers at work and on stage, with workshops and fresh bread Always ready to taste.
At the Teatro dell’Opera Nicola Giuntini, historical baker of Quarrata (Panificio Giuntini Quarrata), and Piero Capecchi, will animate on the subject a special workshop. While Saturday, March 9, at 10:30, the workshop “Mani in pasta” will offer 20 young chefs the opportunity to create and bake like real professionals. The event is organized by Style Piccoli, the Corriere della Sera magazine, and will take place a few steps from the Leopolda, at Buonerìa.
Inside the foyer of the Teatro dell’Opera, the protagonists of the food world challenge each other on the hottest topics of contemporary cuisine: the Rings Moderate will be, as usual, the Gastronaut Davide Paolini.

Saturday 9 March, 4.30 pm “Back to the Trattoria?“. A focus on the return to vogue of the symbol par excellence of the Italian tradition. Speakers: Marco Bolasco (curator of the Osterie Guide of Italy Slow Food and food and wine director and various Giunti Editore), Federico Malinverno (president of the association Premiate Trattorie Italiane), Fabio Picchi (Il Cibreo) and Andrea Gori (Trattoria Da Burde).
Sunday 10 March, 16.30 “The social in the chef’s dish“. A journey between solidarity and culture through two great charity initiatives created by starred chefs Massimo Bottura (Refettorio Ambrosiano) and Massimiliano Alajmo (Taste for research), who will be at Taste to tell their experiences.
Monday 11 March, 11.30 “Premio Tavoletta d’Oro 2019“. At the Ring area is held the final award ceremony to declare, by the Chocolate Company, the best peninsula’s chocolate.
Monday 11 March, 12.30 “La Fiorentina. Osti, butchers and wines of real steak “. The first book on a legendary specialty has been published and which is the best place for its presentation?A retail guide on farms, butchers and restaurants where you can enjoy it in Florence, Tuscany and a few selected addresses in the world.
Schedule. For business operators: Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
For the public: From 14.30 to 19.30 and Monday from 9.30 to 16.30.
