Palazzo Strozzi: Sixteenth century “sacred and profane”
Art between mannerism and counter-reform
From 21st September 2017 to 21st January 2018 Florence is hosting a wonderful exhibition of sixteenth century art in Strozzi Palace, called “Il Cinquecento a Firenze. Tra Michelangelo, Pontormo e Giambologna”.
Unmissable exhibition for the lovers of Florentine Renaissance with more than 70 masterpieces celebrating masters like Michelangelo, Bronzino, Giorgio Vasari, Rosso Fiorentino, Pontormo, Santi di Tito, Giambologna, Bartolomeo Ammannati. The Exhibition is part of trilogy “della maniera” of Strozzi Palace, the previous exhibitions were dedicated to Bronzino(2010), Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino(2014), which remember the main events of second part of sixteenth century.
The exhibition gives importance to one of the genial representative of European courts patronage: Francesco I de’ Medici and the event which signed the time: Council of Trent
