Show the Russian Avant-garde
At Palazzo Strozzi in Florence’s historic center, from 27 September 2013 to 19 January 2014 “The Russian Avant-garde, Siberia and the Far East”, the first international exhibition to recognize the fundamental importance of the Oriental and Eurasian sources for the Modernism Russian.
And possible to visit the exhibition from Monday to Friday from 9 to 13 and from 14 to 18 by reservation.
The exhibition, organized by the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi by John Bowlt, Nicoletta Misler, Evgenia Petrova, is dedicated to this complex relationship between the Russian art and the East, giving a prominent role to the Russian radical artists who influenced the development of modern art around a century ago. Artists such as Léon Bakst, Alexandre Benois, Pavel Filonov, Natalia Goncharova, Wassily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, Mikhail Larionov and contributed to a rich debate on this report which left a profound and permanent dialogue on theory as on their artistic practice.
