Christmas Markets were born in North Europe but are long-awaited events, by children and adults, since more than 40 years in Italy as well. The most magical time of the year is coming and Florence comes to life, giving an enchanted atmosphere to citizens and tourists.
These little villages host hand-crafted products hailing from all over the world, between unique toys, decorations and handmade creations, and accompanied by tastes and scents of the best wine and food tradition. Weihnachtsmarkt moves from the most famous German cities to reach the cradle of Renaissance which will host it in Santa Croce square. All the products sold there are made in Germany so you’ll be able to buy ornaments and toys while tasting typical dishes from the cold European land: the sugary Christstollen and salty food like Vienna sausages and “sauerkraut”. This market will be in Florence from 28th November to 16th December 2012.
The Christmas edition of “Lungogiorno”, a craft market, will take place in SAM space of Vecchio Conventino on 15th and 16th December.
There will be a lots of Christmas markets also near Florence, as the historical market of Marradi of 9th and 16th December or the one in Palazzuolo sul Senio named “Magie dell’Avvento”. Scandicci will host gorgeous markets on 13th and 16th December in Matteotti square.
