Florence Festival: music, theatrical performances and dance with Florentine Musical May 2012
Florentine Musical May is the well-known festival characterized by prestigious operas, concerts and ballets which animates the cradle of Renaissance with timeless music every year. Sechs Tänze, ballet by Kylián, will be on stage from 27th to 30th September 2012.
Two giants of modern dance, Jirí Kylián and Angelin Preljocaj, and the Greek choreographer, known by Florentine audience, Andonis Foniadakis will work together: three great artists for a night of wonders. The program will start with the moving music by Mozart and will be followed by Annunciation, a touching choreography loved by the spectators of the past year. The show will end with Les noces, new creation by Foniadakis which brings back archaic rituals of rural weddings combined with Igor Stravinskij’s music. Stravinskjian music will be played together by School of Music Fiesole’s musicians and Musical May choir, directed by Piero Monti.
Florentine Musical May season 2012 won’t end here, it will continue until the end of the year with a full calendar that includes extraordinary theatrical performances and talented musicians.
