Cinema Florence: discover auteur films with the festival “50 Days of International Cinema”
After the amazing success of the past edition, with more than 50.000 viewers, “50 Days of International Cinema in Florence”, ambitious project composed by 9 cinematographic festivals which bring a rich scheduling of quality movies, returns to Florence from 25th October to 14th December 2012. The festival will take place at Odeon Firenze with full-length films, short films, documentaries, docufictions, videos, previews, debates and meetings with the authors.
The season of films will start with “Florence Queer Festival”, an LGBT festival on it’s 10th year. Will follow “France Odeon”, dedicated to French contemporary movies, “Festival dei Popoli”, foremost festival of film documentary in Italy, “Immagini e suoni dal mondo”, an unique event about ethnic music and “Lo schermo dell’arte”, which analyze the connections between cinema and art. “Balkan Florence Express”, first show about cinema from Balkans it’s the news of this year, while returns the appointment with the role of the woman in the contemporary society with “Festival internazionale di Cinema e Donne”. The 150 screenings end with “River to River”, a tribute to Indian cinema and culture. As always, the project will end presenting “Premio NICE Città di Firenze”, launching pad for many Italian directors.
